Round Rock lies along I-35 just north of Austin, mostly in Williamson County with a southern portion in Travis County. It is best known as the home of Dell Technologies' global headquarters, which helped turn the city from a commuter suburb into a place where many residents live and work in the same area.
Smoke Damage Public Adjuster, operated by Rise Public Adjusting LLC (TDI License #3356839), represents policyholders in smoke and fire property claims across Texas, including Round Rock. We do not have a Round Rock office. We work with owners here on documenting and presenting their claim.
The Round Rock property mix
Round Rock's housing has been built in waves. Older homes sit near the historic downtown along Main Street and Brushy Creek. Large subdivisions from the 1980s through 2000s fill much of the city, and newer master-planned neighborhoods continue east toward Hutto and north toward Georgetown. There is also a sizable rental market, from single-family rentals to garden-style apartment complexes, much of it tied to the area's employers.
On the commercial side, the city includes office and corporate campuses, big-box and outlet retail along I-35 and SH 45, restaurants, medical facilities and light industrial space.
That variety changes how a smoke claim is put together:
| Property type | Questions that often come up |
|---|---|
| Single-family home | How far smoke traveled through the HVAC system; attic and insulation; contents in rooms away from the fire |
| Rental house | Landlord policy vs. tenant's renters policy; loss of rental income |
| Apartment complex | Smoke in adjacent units and hallways; shared ventilation; multiple claimants |
| Retail or restaurant | Inventory and equipment; business interruption; tenant improvements vs. building |
For more on the residential side, see residential smoke damage claims. For owners and tenants of business property, see commercial smoke damage claims.
Edge of the Hill Country
Western Round Rock and neighboring Cedar Park sit at the eastern edge of the Texas Hill Country, where cedar, oak and grassland meet suburban development. The Texas A&M Forest Service calls that meeting point the wildland-urban interface and describes it as where wildfire damage risk is often highest. The agency's Texas Wildfire Risk Assessment Portal lets property owners look up the wildfire threat and WUI data for their own area.
Most Round Rock smoke claims still start inside the building: kitchen fires, dryer fires, electrical problems or a fire in a neighboring unit. But brush and grass fires on the edge of the metro, and smoke from larger Central Texas fires, can also leave residue and odor in homes that were never close to the flames. Those claims depend heavily on documentation and on the policy's specific wording.
What we do on a Round Rock claim
A public adjuster works on the claim, not the cleanup. We do not clean, remediate or repair. For Round Rock policyholders, we:
- Review the policy, including limits and conditions that apply to smoke and fire losses
- Document the damage to the structure, systems and contents
- Compare that documentation against the carrier's estimate
- Present the claim with organized support and request a closer look where items appear to be missing
If your claim has stalled or the payment does not seem to reflect the damage, see delayed and underpaid smoke damage claims.

Do you have a local office in Round Rock?
No. We serve all of Texas without local offices. We work with Round Rock policyholders by phone and email and at the property when needed.
I rent my Round Rock house to tenants. Whose insurance handles a smoke loss?
Usually the landlord's policy addresses the building, and the tenant's renters policy, if they have one, addresses their belongings. Lost rent may or may not be covered depending on your landlord policy.
A fire in the next apartment put smoke in my unit. What should I do?
Report it to your own carrier if you have renters or condo coverage, and document the smoke and odor in your unit. Your policy language will determine what is covered.
Can you tell me whether my smoke damage is covered?
Not without reading your policy and understanding the facts. Coverage decisions turn on specific wording, which is why we start with the policy.
